Tasted – Al’Fez Lebanese Style Falafel
By Vegan Caroline
This is a well priced store cupboard staple snack or quick addition to a meal.
Falafel is a good friend to vegans. If you’re away from home you can usually find a takeaway selling it when there’s little else that’s vegan friendly available. The main ingredient is chickpeas flavoured with herbs and spices then shaped into little patties that are fried. It’s usually served in a nan bread or pitta or as a small dish as part of mezze.
You add water to this Lebanese Falafel mix and it came together easily. The individual falafel held their shape well when shallow fried. The flavours were good and it didn’t taste too salty like some other mixes I’ve tried. This is a good fast food store cupboard staple.
