Tasted: Freedom Mallows Vanilla Flavour 75g
By Vegan Caroline
Retailing at a good price point for vegan marshmallows with a pleasant taste and texture. Freedom Mallows also passed the meltability test..
I was reading the other day how crazily flavoured gourmet marshmallows are the new cupcake or perhaps that should be macaroon? It’s funny but marshmallows were never something that I was that bothered about in my pre-vegan days but I’m sure that lots of you will empathise with the fact that they suddenly became something I desired once I couldn’t have them!
Like other vegan marshmallows these are gelatine free, contain all natural colours and flavours and there is no high fructose corn syrup. The flavour and texture were great and they are a welcome addition to the UK vegan marshmallow market coming in at a lower price point than any I’ve seen before. I did the hot chocolate test and I can report back that these worked a treat and melted well. They’d also be great for Rocky Road Bars or Rice Crispy Squares.
