Tasted: V Bites Festive Pasties
By Vegan Caroline
V Bites Vegi Deli Festive Pasties are one of the most exciting new festive veggie products around. Basically Christmas dinner in a pasty. Great taste and definitely one to try.
There’s new meat and cheese analogues appearing on the market all the time. V Bites who produce the Vegi Deli range have been one of the companies at the forefront of this. Previously known as Redwoods, the company was bought by Heather Mills a few years ago who has continued to develop and expand the range. The Festive Range brings to the market a seasonal twist on some of their regular products as well as introducing a several new innovative products.
I’m not a massive pasty lover but the idea of these Festive Pasties intrigued me. You get two in a pack and there’s veggie turkey and pork sausages in there along with potato, carrot, parsnips, cranberries, gravy and even Brussels sprouts. It’s basically Christmas dinner in pasty form! The good news is that it’s not just a novelty idea, the flavours and textures are good and it all comes together and works well. Ready made vegan pasties are actually a real rarity. My partner who is a massive mock meat fan declared it their best product to date and I have to agree it’s up there with their chorizo my previous personal favourite.

Vegi Deli Sage, Onion and Cranberry style Bites
With the inclusion of chickpeas these are more like a stuffing flavour falafel bite than a sausage bite like the others in the range. A little bit crumbly in texture but tasty.Tasted by Vegan Caroline
Vegi Deli Gammon Style and Orange Bites
These sausage style bites had a good texture but I wasn’t keen on the seasoning. I would have preferred more orange and less clove flavours. Tasted by Vegan Caroline
Vegi Deli Turkey Style, Leek and Blue Cheezly Bites
Little crispy, sausage style bites ideal for a buffet. The turkey and blue cheese flavours work well together. Tasted by Vegan Caroline
Vegi Deli Brussels Style and Cranberry Pate
This is very similar to how I remember meat pates. The Christmas twist with the sweet cranberries works really well and is a product I’d happily eat all year round.Tasted by Vegan Caroline
Vegi Deli Meat Free Sausage and Bacon Style Wraps
The sausage and bacon analogues are both sold separately but they’re also combined here in a good value pack for a vegan ‘pigs in blankets’. One to add to the Christmas dinner.Tasted by Vegan Caroline
