By Martin Isark
Yes, the grape is chardonnay, but  white burgundy from the Burgundy region in France takes the ubiquitous chardonnay to another level.

The wine:
The most famous wine from Northern Burgundy is chablis and it is rare to find a producer on the supermarket shelves that uses oak whereas in Southern Burgundy most winemakers use oak

The verdict:
Looking for a wine that delivers a  green apple-like aromas, mouth-watering steely acidity and a flinty mineral lick then grab a bottle of chablis from Burgundy’s Chablis region. Unlike the wines from Chablis, most of the white wines from Southern Burgundy use oak. and  best deliver a mix of  aromas and flavours of ripe apples, stone fruits, orange blossom, honey. oatmeal, moreish acidity and a toasty oak lick.
