Tasted: Prestat chocolate
By Veggie Tom
Crunchy little nut pieces are well distributed throughout excellent quality white chocolate. A touch of salt accents the flavour beautifully.
One of Britain’s oldest chocolate shops, Prestat was founded in 1902 and has a Royal Warrant to supply to the Queen. It has an online shop, but you’ll also find a small range at Waitrose and, currently, about 16 products at Ocado. It’s range of luxury bars promises unusual, high end flavours – but do they deliver?
I liked all five Prestat bars I tried, but this one with toasted pistachios was my hands-down favourite. It’s rare for a white chocolate bar to win my affections over dark or milk, but the cloying taste you sometimes expect from white chocolate is subdued by the slightly salty, nutty pistachios. It’s a top notch bar.
