Do they taste of Guinness? Not really. Are they nice? Yep! These premium crisps have a good, strong flavour.
Guinness? In a crisp? It might be an iconic drink, but it doesn’t taste of all that much. At least, it doesn’t taste of anything that makes you think: “This would be brilliant if you captured it and put it in a crisp.” Not like cheese, or onions, or salt, or vinegar, or even Marmite for that matter.
And Marmite, it turns out, is the secret to this crisp. The tangy, savoury, saltiness of yeast extract gives these crisps the character and clout that Guinness cannot. But they do share some qualities with their namesake: they’re dark, potent and a touch bitter (in a good way). And, like all Burts Chips, they’re top quality. Can you eat it? These crisps are gluten-free and vegetarian – though give them a miss if you’re avoiding dairy or yeast.
