A satisfying crunch and great spice blend make this healthier style roasted snack very addictive indeed.
Chickpeas but not as you know them! We’re all most familiar with chickpeas as the main ingredient in veggie stews and curries or everyone’s favourite dip – hummus. I’ve seen a few recipes for homemade roasted chickpeas knocking around the web but this was my first actual taste encounter with them.
It took me a few mouthfuls to completely make up my mind about roasted chickpeas. Truth be told on their own they are a little dry but pair them with a cup of tea or an alchoholic beverage and they really come into their own. In fact they became quite addictive. The good news is that a handful of these protein packed crunchy peas was enough to satisfy and at only 88 calories for 65g, a bag they went a long way. I could imagine them also working well as croutons on salads or soups or as an after workout protein snack. A great vegan snack discovery.
