Hoppy Gilmore
The bitterness of an IPA rounded out with malty, puddingy darkness. Delicious.
The product
“Fade to Black is darker than a Metallica album cover and hoppier than a frog that has just dropped a keg on his foot.” The label talks a good game, then – but do the contents deliver?
The verdict:
This is a delight. Take a sniff and you’ll find plenty of chocolate, plus perhaps a spot of caramel and prune. There’s a hint of fruitiness in the first taste – like sour plum or blackcurrant – before the classic IPA bitterness hits, then softens into a malty, puddingy darkness. It’s complex, confident and delicious.
