Lurpak’s new Cook’s Range Baking Spread had been reduced down to two quid for 500g at my local Sainsbury’s. That’s cheap! It’s £3.25 at Asda. I use Lurpak for baking – so I ‘Ventured Forth’ and gave it a try.
The product:
Lurpak’s Baking Spread has been specially produced so that it delivers a soft texture, folds into cake mixtures very easily and is ready use straight from the fridge. That sounds all good to me.
The verdict:
Yes… it is softer straight from the fridge than regular unsalted spreadable Lurpak, but there is no noticeable difference in the mixing, baking and the taste of the cakes I’ve made. My savvy- shopping verdict. It works, but don’t pay the full price for it!
