Rich, fruity and a healthier alternative to standard chocolate. One to nibble a chunk at a time.
It’s an exciting time for chocolate production with new flavour combinations appearing and increasingly better quality chocolate becoming readily available. These iQ bars go one step further with claims of over 20 health benefits through their work with Rowett Institute of Nutrition and Health at Aberdeen University, and Robert Gordons University. The bars are made from the rare nutritionally rich Criollo bean and minimal processing and heating of ingredients helps retain more of the benefits of vitamins and minerals found in the beans. In addition the sweetener Coconut blossom sugar has a low GI making it suitable for diabetics.
My favourite bar was the BeautiQ. I love dark bitter chocolate and this fits the bill. It’s nicely flavoured with orange oil and has the addition of crunchy bits of sea buckthorn known for it’s benefits to skin, hair and nails. The bars contain copper, manganese, phosphorus, magnesium, potassium and zinc. If you’re looking for a healthier option to standard chocolate bars these are an interesting range to check out. They do taste ‘healthier’ and are very rich. Definitely a a chocolate to enjoy and nibble a bit at a time rather than devouring a whole bar in one sitting.
