They don’t cut corners, it costs what it costs

Top-notch boutique wine producers don’t cut corners, it costs what it costs. A cheaper winemaking process or an increase in production to hit regulation price points does not fit with their ethos. This is what wine is all about in my book.

2016, Francone,  Barbaresco DOCG  Nebbiolo Piemonte North W, Italy, Alc. 15%, £29.92

Drinks well with and without food! 2016 is an exceptional vintage throughout Piemonte, and this Nebbiolo wine strut’s its stuff with ease.

A well crafted Italian white, but does it make my tastebuds turn somersaults? NO!

If you relish the taste of posh white Burgundy, but can’t afford it, then this three grape blend is heaven sent. A case won’t be enough.

Easy drinker! A quality Valpolicella Ripasso that delivers clean black fruit notes that come threaded with fine tannins and ripe acidity.  Try it and you’ll never ouch cheap Valpolicella again.

2017 Maturum LaGrein Riserva Alto Adige, North E Italy, Alc.13.5%. £29.90

Class Act. A red wine that has been beautifully crafted:  the fruit, tannins, and the acidity all beat in perfect harmony. Worth every grape.

Want a quality gutsy red wine that’s going to trade punches with the most flavoursome food then 306 will be money well spent.
