The Product:
Divine are a leading light in the world of Fairtrade chocolate and are unusual in that 45% of the company is owned by cocoa farmers in Ghana. They have a well established range and have a great seasonal selection of products with many suitable for vegans. Need an advent calendar, chocolate coins or after dinner mints? The Verdict:
Although chocolate, pears and ginger are common enough ingredients to pair together in a dessert I’ve never come across them in a chocolate bar. They are an inspired choice though for this limited edition Christmas bar. The ginger is pretty subtle and it’s the flavour of the sweet, perfumed chewy pear pieces that is upfront providing a nice contract to the rich, bitter dark chocolate.
